Description

Located between the central, southern and Mediterranean regions of Europe, the Republic of Croatia brings together the most beautiful of the continent and its traditions, both in its beautiful provinces and in its wonderful landscapes. Zagreb, its capital, is a vibrant city that reflects the best of Croatian culture and its past with Austro-Hungarian influences in various expressions such as architecture, fine arts and gastronomy.

Croatia includes more than 1000 small islands that meander the coast of the Adriatic Sea, although only 50 of them are inhabited. Its beaches are the cleanest in Europe and are characterized by the intense blue of its waters and mountains surrounded by small traditional villas.

Zagreb

The majestic Croatian capital, situated between the Medvednica mountain and the Sava river, shelters this legacy since the golden age of the Roman Empire. It has always been defined as a powerful city full of history due to its strategic location between central Europe and the Adriatic Sea. The above is reflected in its imposing constructions among which stands out a large number of castles and cathedrals.

The city is divided into 3 zones: the Upper Town, Kaptol and the new Lower Town, which you can tour by tram, on foot or on the funicular. It is the cultural center where the galleries, museums, monuments and parks are located, among which are the Stone Gate, the Artistic Pavilion, the Cathedral of Zagreb (San Esteban) and the Botanical Garden.

Points of interest

Diocletian’s Palace. This majestic architectural complex located in Split combines the beauty of a walled palace with the monumentality of a great military fort.

Dubrovnik. This ancient province, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, has managed to preserve its streets full of marble and impressive monuments.

Plitvice Lakes National Park. Located in the Lika region, it is a unique natural reserve in the world that shelters crystalline lakes, fresh springs and beautiful waterfalls.

Brač Island. Situated on the Adriatic Sea, it is an island famous for Zlatni Rat, a long beach with white stones in the south of the terrain, the ideal place for surf lovers.

Croatia is located in the middle of the majestic and nostalgic Europe, in a privileged location that offers landscapes drawn from a fairy tale. With a history that dates back thousands of years, this country is home to imposing constructions that place it as a cultural hotspot unique in the world.
